Situated within the Grandes Rousses Hotel & Spa in Alpe d’Huez, L'Espérance offers a warm and inviting dining experience centred on sharing and authenticity. 

With the convivial spirit of a bistro, it serves comforting yet refined dishes in an elegant but relaxed setting. Signature creations highlight the richness of French terroir, crafted with a modern touch.

For a unique experience, guests can dine on the terrace, where private "bubbles" provide an intimate setting for a cosy dinner under the stars.

The name L'Espérance honours the hotel’s deep family roots, recalling the first café opened in 1902 by Joseph Colomb in the village of Huez. This legacy lives on in a space designed for gathering, sharing, and creating lasting memories.

2. Chamois d'Or Restaurant

Located at the Chamois d'Or hotel, right at the bottom of the pistes, this restaurant serves traditional gourmet French cuisine with a modern twist and made using local ingredients.

Chives picked at the nearby gorges de Sarenne, wild cumin from the riverbeds, dandelion flowers from local pastures. You will enjoy dishes inspired by and made with the best local products from around Alpe d'Huez.

Their lunch menu includes a large cold starters buffet, sandwiches, pasta, grilled meat and fish. For dinner they serve a selection of gourmet starters including foie-gras and prawns, a range of traditional meat and fish mains, and to finish, cheese-boards and home-made desserts.

They also have well-priced lunch and dinner menus as well as children's menus.

3. L'Empreinte Restaurant

A popular, small restaurant offering modern French and international cuisine. With seating for only 27 covers, you'll want to book your table well in advance.

At this restaurant the 'menu du moment' changes regularly and offers a small selection of carefully curated dishes. You can check on the website for the current menu when you book.

The friendly team will give you a warm welcome and be on hand throughout.

Children are welcome, but there are no specific children's menus and a minimum spend is required. Maximum two children per group. 

Open everyday from 18:30 to 21:30, and available by booking only online or by phone.

Serving modern French brasserie cuisine in a lovely setting, this is a popular restaurant to try good-quality French cuisine in Alpe d'Huez.

This place has been renovated into a classy and atmospheric dining room but retains much of it's traditional chalet charm. The huge sunny terrace is a massive draw, where you can enjoy a lunch and drink with a view.

On the menu you will find carefully curated dishes with modern French influences. The menu is small, but full of good and locally-sourced seasonal produce. It changes regularly throughout the seasons. There are menus available, including a tasting menu and a children's menu.
