The extensive lift network in Alpe d'Huez is open both in summer and winter. For the winter season, snow cover permitting, the ski area is scheduled to open on the following dates:
Winter Season Dates 2020/21
Following French government announcement on 20th January 2021, the ski-lifts are closed indefinitely. We therefore do not anticipate the lifts will open for Winter 2020/21 as this is economically unviable for the lift companies at this point
Ski resorts are OPEN but lifts remain closed; there is a national curfew from 18h-6h currently in France, with tighter measure likely from end of January
Tuesday 15th December 2020 to Saturday 24th April 2021
Dates & times may be subject to change depending on snow cover and conditions
If you're skiing over to other villages in the Grande Domaine ski area, be aware of the times of the last lifts to get you back to Alpe d'Huez centre. If you do happen to encounter any problems simply speak to the nearest “lifty” for advice – look for the black and orange outfits.
