The main resort is Alpe d'Huez, and this is where the best selection of accommodation, bars and restaurants are, along with the best access to the ski slopes. Further down the valley lie some smaller distinct villages that are connected to the ski area but offer a quieter holiday atmosphere. Oz en Oisans lies on the other side of the mountain, 6.7km away. It is a purpose-built ski station and is linked to the traditional village of Oz down in the valley below. Vaujany is a pretty mountain town just along from Oz and is also connected to the main ski area. You can see how the villages are connected on this piste map.
