New artists impressions and a video showing the gondola that could link Alpe d'Huez and Les 2 Alpes resorts together have been released.

The question over whether or not this project will actually go ahead is a yes, according to the mayor of Alpe d'Huez.

If the lift does get built, it could take passengers around 18 minutes to make the crossing and is anticipated to cost in the region of 60 million euros. This cost would be for the gondola alone, with further development on things like underground parking and the roads potentially costing up to 350 million euros.

A source close to the project suggests that if building work starts in 2019, the liaison could be finished and ready for use in 2021. Take a look at the video.
