La Folie Douce Fruitiere Restaurant
Smart modern restaurant offering gourmet cuisine on the slopes
Perched at 2,300m at the top of the Marmottes lift, this smart mountain restaurant combines breathtaking panoramic views with a spacious, sun-drenched terrace. The menu features refined dishes crafted from the finest local ingredients, ranging from fresh, perfectly cooked fish and premium steaks to a gourmet beef burger topped with rich Beaufort cheese. With its stylish yet welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely, indulgent lunch before heading next door to the Folie Douce to continue the fun with lively après-ski entertainment.
Set at the top of the Marmottes 1 lift, La Fruitière offers a refined mountain dining experience with panoramic views across Alpe d’Huez and beyond. The terrace is one of the most impressive in resort, with a smart and carefully laid-out setting that adds to the high-end feel.
The menu features beautifully presented dishes using quality ingredients and local produce, including fish, steaks, chicken and a gourmet beef burger with Beaufort cheese. Service is attentive without being overbearing and the relaxed atmosphere makes this a great place to take a break from skiing or boarding for a memorable mountain lunch.
You’ll find both classic and more creative plates here, all served with a side of exceptional scenery. The terrace fills up quickly, so booking ahead is recommended if you want one of the front row tables overlooking the slopes. Open every day from 12:00 to 15:00, with two sittings available at 12.30 and 14.00.
The restaurant sits alongside the iconic Folie Douce terrace, so if you’re in the mood for music and après ski, you can wander straight from lunch to the party next door.
If you want to do après at Folie Douce and have lunch without the gourmet dining experience or price tag, try the Petite Cuisine, a good value, self-service restaurant also situated at Folie Douce at the top of the Marmottes lift.
