There is quite a lot to report this week from the world of Après, as not only is it European Gay Ski Week in Alpe d'Huez, but my girlfriend is here for the week which has meant a good deal of wining and dining in my world, mustn't complain though and why would I with the great restaurants and nights out I have been having this week.
First of all, get your red roses and red wine out, find yourself a girlfriend and buy her some chocolates...it's VALENTINE'S DAY! (which is why I will be on my own watching DVD's with my flatmate ce soir...Oh well)

I know, I know, I know... you lot have missed me like the desert misses the rain.... but don't worry, it's only been two weeks! And I'm back! It was rather bad timing for me being slightly under the weather, but luckily coincided with one of the quietist weeks in Alpe D'Huez – half term week (lucky for lack of après, that is!) Anyway...onwards and upwards! And this week has indeed picked up! It must be because everyone knew I was back!... Hmmmm

Can Manchester City conquer Paris St German?
The UEFA Champions League enters the quarter final stage, with sole English survivors Manchester City drawn against runaway French Ligue1 Champions Paris St German. City have the advantage of the first taking place in Paris on Wednesday 6th April with the return leg back at the Etihad Stadium 6 days later on Tuesday on 12th April.

Premier in resort screens next week
The latest, and much anticipated, instalment in the Star Wars story – Rogue One - is to be shown in version original in English next Monday (11th January) at Le Palais cinema in the leisure centre in the middle of town.

Welcome to the first Aprés Report of Winter 09/10. During the winter seasons, alpedhueznet's written reports focus strongly on the snow, the weather and the conditions on and off the piste. The Aprés Report is my chance to let you know what's happening off the mountain. Although, today, as it's the first report of the season I'm going to use a little artistic licence to tell you about my parapente experience this week... strictly, it's not cheating... It has been a debauched week in resort so far, with over 200 Irish students descending on Saturday. As a result the bars have been overflowing and energetic.

If I was asked to describe my typical, and perfect, alpine restaurant/pizzeria I would simply conjure up an image of Pinocchio Pizzeria here in Alpe d’Huez.
First of all I would like to apologise for the delay in posting this week's report. I know you have all been sat in front of your computers in eager anticipation as to what crazy things have been happening in the Alpe of Huez, but your poor après-ski reporter has been a little poorly. We've had beautiful weather in Alpe d'Huez this week and I'm afraid that means my commitment to the aprés scene has waned a little, in favour of hitting the mountain. Last week ended with a cracking night in Lounge 21 to celebrate barman Dylan's birthday. We ploughed through starters and main courses, joining the rest of the staff for a celebratory glass of Champagne at the bar instead of dessert. Well, that's not quite true, I still managed to squeeze in a Toblerone chocolate sundae while the other guests knocked back Laurent Perrier.
