Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Review: 27th January 2015

Comfortable, cozy and a friendly atmosphere would describe the setting of O’Bar, if you are looking for a place to rest after a hard day skiing then head to the log fire to warm up from the cold and rest those aching muscles, trust me once you are there you won’t want to move!

Hello everybody and here is my report, as promised, from the future.

Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Report: 14th January 2010

I'd like to say that this week's Aprés Report will show my more sophisticated self and prove to be a calmer, more mature approach to the week's party scene. And in many ways, that's true. I haven't been burning the candle at both ends this week, and instead have moved some my ski-free activities to the daytime so there's still been plenty of fun!

We're approaching the busy February school holidays and as is usual here in Alpe d'Huez there's plenty going on in resort to keep you all entertained.

Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Report: 12nd December 2008

With the season just kicking off in Alpe D'Huez and the new seasonnaires slowly starting to settle into resort, the nightlife is certainly starting to kick into gear. Lifts opened on Saturday, and to celebrate 4 days of continuous snow, Smithy's Tavern and DJ Kapich got the official season calendar off to a bang. The windows steamed up, the vodka shots flowed and Planete Surf's Fatbeat got his decks out to round off the evening.

Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Report:3rd March 2011

My après week began, as many Thursdays in resort do, with a full English breakfast in the fabulous Rendez Vous up on the Rue de la Meije. It's served from 11am till 5pm so even if you are planning a big day on the mountain you can still fit one in. If you are like me however, it is a great excuse to not go up, and a great place to write your snow and après reports. Thursday night was the birthday of Underground legend Busty, and in typical Busty fashion there was plenty of drinking involved and the night almost certainly ended in chaos.

In winter it’s often all too easy to forget about the lovely old town area here in Alpe d’Huez, which can mean missing out on some of the real gems of restaurants the resort has to offer.

Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Report: 17th December 2009

It's been a busy week for Alpe d'Huez's party scene, especially for those who have braved the extreme cold and early-season flu to make the most of the promotions in the bars. I'm afraid I've been a bit of a wuss this week, favouring riding over partying and saving my meagre cents rather than splashing out on the jugs, spheres and plain old pints that have been flowing freely this week.

Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Report: 17th January 2012

Welcome to my report on the goings on in Alpe d’Huez once the lifts are shut, the ski lockers padlocked and the town at the foot of those wonderful pistes comes to life. Apres-ski, for any non French speakers out there simply means “after ski” and is a term used to describe everything that happens in a ski resort that doesn’t (or sometimes does) involve wearing ski boots.
