Alpe d'Huez Apres Ski Review: 27th January 2015

O'Bar round up for this week

Imprint
By Nicole Afford, Updated

Comfortable, cozy and a friendly atmosphere would describe the setting of O’Bar, if you are looking for a place to rest after a hard day skiing then head to the log fire to warm up from the cold and rest those aching muscles, trust me once you are there you won’t want to move!

However, if you want a more lively atmosphere hit O’Bar around happy hour (5-6pm) as the bar comes alive with plenty of skiers and boarders straight off the slopes. The bar is mainly known for its burger and tapas, live sports on TV and its free Wi-Fi.

This week saw Cocktail night on Sunday, there is a cocktail for everyone whatever your tastes may be; be sure to try their most popular cocktails from raspberry mojitos to a cosmopolitan I can recommend these! If you are wanting to try something different then why not opt for the Bombay Punch or Expresso Martini; being only €5 these are a total bargain up in the Alps!

Cocktail night runs from 9-11pm, if you missed this Sunday’s session then don’t miss Friday, this is the last chance to try out the cocktails at these great rates for this week!

As for the rest of the week, O’Bar keeps busy hosting a steak night on Monday’s for only €11 including steak, chips and a glass of wine and beer but do book in advance!

Following this, every Tuesday hosts a language night to give all budding French speakers the chance to hone their skills with local native speakers whilst relaxing by the fire and sipping a Vin Chaud.

O’Bar also shows football on Wednesday 27th January at 20.45 Sheffield United Vs Tottenham Hotspur if you want to watch some football and have a quiet beer, Friday 29th January also airs the football with Bournemouth v Watford at 20.45.

The good drink deals and offers continue on Thursdays with O’Bar’s burger nights where you can choose any burger and get a free pint or wine. To round off one of their good meals I would definitely recommend following it with one of their mouth watering orange chocolate brownies they melt in your mouth and are amazing!

Worth mentioning is O’Bar’s Happy Hour’s where all drinks become half price, definitely one to save the pennies. Their happy hours run from 5-6pm and then later at 10-11pm so whether you want to pop along for an early or a later one, you can still enjoy the benefits of their fantastic rates.
