If live music is your bag then then Thursday nights here in resort could be right up your street.
The live entertainment starts nice and early here with a great bit of apres-ski live music at the Sphere Bar, up at the top end of the Main Street (Avenue Les Jeux). It gets under way at Sphere at 4.30pm. They then follow the “pros” up with a bit of karaoke for those of you who feel brave enough to grab the mic!
Meanwhile later on on Thursday evenings you can head to the Underground Bar (under the Hotel Chamois, just down the hill from the leisure centre and church), with the action getting under way in “undies” with Busty and the boys at around 9.30pm.
And if you are still hungry for some more live music then make your way across to Smithy’s Tavern (in the middle of town, above the Igloo Nightclub) where the bands generally get under way at around 11pm. Smithy’s on a Thursday is always packed and is a great mix of holidaymakers and seasonnaires.
Most the bands are British bands who make their way around the Alpes during the winters and play a mix of covers and original stuff. Last Thursday's band in Smithy’s had played in Morzine the night before and had endured a 5 and half drive through the snow to Alpe d’Huez. In the case of many of the bands at Smithy’s Tavern they have often played the Les Deux Alpes Smithy’s the night before.
Enjoy!
