Cliff jump goes wrong
Serious condition for skier who dropped 50 metres
Rescue services were called out on Sunday afternoon to the Dôme des Petites Rousses off-piste sector in Alpe d'Huez after a skier was injured from a huge cliff drop.
The 28 year old skier jumped the 50 metre cliff drop on the couloir de l’Agneliney
When the medical services arrived on the scene they had to treat the young man immediately before transporting him to hospital for further treatment - he suffered head, back and leg injury.
It is not yet clear if the man intentionally attempted the cliff jump or whther it was an accident.
The man is currently at the Grenoble hospital in a serious condition.
