Brake Failure on Coach Carrying British Seasonnaires Home from the Alps

Reports are coming in that a coach carrying British passengers has crashed on the descent from Alpe d'Huez. The serious accident occurred at around 13:45 this afternoon while carrying 51 British seasonaires on their way home after finishing their ski season in the Alps.

Brake failure is reported to have caused the bus to crash into a cliff around turn 21 on the descent from Alpe d'Huez before catching fire. It is believed that British driver lost his life in the crash and that many of the passengers are injured, several seriously. One passenger was airlifted to a local hospital and all others have been accounted for.

The passengers are all believed to have spent the winter working for Brighton-based Skibound in various ski resorts across the French Alps. Skibound are a leading tour operator that organises ski trips for schools, whilst the coach is said to have been supplied by UK coach company Classic.
