Cycling News - The Col de Croix-de-Fer Opens Monday
Lack of snow means cycling up the col is a go!
Good news for cyclists wanting an early season hill climb - the Col de la Croix-de-Fer will be open on Monday.
The summit lies at 2068m on the road connecting Bourg d'Oisans with Saint Jean de Maurienne, and is a legendary point on the Tour de France route.
The col du Croix de Fer is part of this year's Tour de France and is also a major climb in the Etape.
Normally not open until June, the poor snow this ski season means it's open to cycle a whole month early!
The nearby Col du Glandon will remained closed for the time being for snow clearance.
